NatureClub – Installing Used Pen Bins – A Plastic-Free Campus Initiative

Dignity College

The Nature Club of Dignity College of Arts and Science, Perambra, organized a significant event to promote environmental sustainability and reduce plastic waste on campus. As part of its Plastic-Free Campus Initiative, the club successfully installed “used pen bins “at various locations of the college.
The event commenced at 1:00 PM at the college ground with a welcome speech by Dr. Abdhulla Paleri, who highlighted the importance of such initiatives in fostering a sense of environmental responsibility among students and staff.
The formal inauguration of the program was done by Prof. M. Muhammed Aslam, the Principal of Dignity College, Perambra. In his address, he praised the Nature Club for its proactive steps and emphasized the college’s commitment to creating a green and sustainable learning environment.
Following the inauguration, the event featured felicitation speeches from Mrs. Prasheeba R, the Staff Club Secretary, lauded the students for their innovative approach to waste management. Mr. Musthafa P.K. and Mrs. Ramshida also extended their congratulations and support for the initiative, encouraging the college community to actively participate in the program.Student coordinator Shahana also felicitated the program.
The event concluded with a vote of thanks delivered by Safva K.S., the Convenor of the Nature Club. Safva expressed gratitude to the principal, faculty, and all the members of the Nature Club for their collective efforts in making the project a reality. The installation of the used pen bins marks a positive step towards achieving a plastic-free campus and encourages everyone to contribute to a cleaner, greener future.
